I'm going to get a gimbal stabilizer for A7II. Which gimbal currently is best fit for a7ii ?

If you need a lightweight gimbal, get the DJI RS 3 Mini.

If you need a gimbal more professional, get the DJI RS 4 or RS4 Pro.

Regarding what #4 said about "RS 3 Mini."

  • I totally agree that going for something compact is the way to go. Just a heads up for anyone using an older body like the a7 II though. You really gotta be careful with the connection cables. Since this camera uses micro-USB, some of the newer gimbals have a tough time with full control features compared to the newer USB-C cameras. Honestly, I've tried a few different brands and some of the budget ones have really buggy software when it comes to older Sony tech. You might find yourself unable to trigger the shutter from the handle which kinda defeats the purpose. Also, make sure you dont cheap out on the weight capacity. Even if it says it can hold your gear, those motors can get pretty hot if you're maxing them out all day. Just check those compatibility lists super closely before pulling the trigger, itll save you a huge headache!

Like someone mentioned, that micro-USB port on the Sony a7 II is a total headache. Over the years, I've tried pretty much every brand under the sun trying to get my older Sony gear to play nice with modern stabilizers. Honestly, in my experience, you should just go with Zhiyun. They've always been way more forgiving with older camera protocols than other brands I've messed with. I remember spending hours trying to get remote start/stop working on a different setup and it just wouldnt happen. Switched over to a Zhiyun and it worked instantly. Just get any of their newer, mid-to-large stabilizers and you'll be fine. They usually include the right cables in the box too which saves a lot of annoyance. If you run into issues with the balance or anything tho, let me know, I've been through it all with this setup...

DJI RS 4 is one of the best choice.
