I just got this a7R V and honestly I'm way over my head with all the buttons and settings. I spent way too much money on it for my nephews wedding in two weeks and now im realizing the battery life isnt great and it feels kind of small in my hands like im gonna drop it. I heard people talk about vertical grips but i have no idea what that really means or which one to buy. I saw one from Sony thats like $400 and my heart sank because i already spent all my savings on the body and a lens.

Are there other ones that wont blow up my camera? Im so scared of using a cheap one and ruining the electronics but $400 is just too much right now. Do the buttons even work on the cheaper ones like Neewer or whatever? I live in a small town so I have to order everything online and i dont want to get the wrong thing and have to deal with returns before the big day. Is the official Sony one really the only safe way to go or are there other brands that people actually trust for this specific camera model? I really dont want to mess this up because this camera is the most expensive thing i own...

Option one is grabbing a DJI RS 3 Mini because I love those smooth moving shots but option two is just rigging it out with the SmallRig Black Mamba cage and a couple 99Wh V-mount batteries. Since I'll be hiking a lot I need to stay light but I'm worried about battery life in the cold weather vs having a gimbal.

Which one is more of an essential "must have" for a solo shooter like me?

I am torn between the Atomos Ninja V and the Portkeys LH5P II right now and I cant decide. The Ninja is the industry standard but its bulky and I hate the fan noise, while the Portkeys has that direct camera control which sounds great but I've heard the software can be buggy as hell.

I have a big outdoor wedding gig in Sydney coming up in two weeks so I need something that actually works in direct sunlight. Budget is capped at $650. Is the Ninja still the way to go or is there something better for the price?

I have like $400 left for accessories. So I was thinking about the cage situation... I'm torn between the SmallRig basic kit and the Tilta V2 cage. My logic was that Tilta feels more solid but the SmallRig is cheaper so I could maybe afford more batteries? Speaking of which im stuck between buying a single Nano One V-mount or just 4 extra Sony batteries. V-mount seems pro but then I gotta buy the plate and it gets bulky fast and my wrist already hurts just thinking about it. what should I prioritize first?

I usually run the FX3 with the XLR handle which is a nightmare for small motors sometimes so I need something compact that can actually balance it without freaking out. I was looking at the RS3 Mini or maybe the Crane M3S? Budget is around $400-500 since I just dropped way too much on glass. Will the RS3 Mini actually hold the FX3 with the top handle on or is that just wishful thinking...
