Just found this thread today and honestly im in the same boat. Trying to expand my kit on a budget is basically a full time job when you care about the technical details like I do. I spent weeks looking at mtf charts and element counts for the specific focal length I wanted. I finally found a deal on a used copy from a private seller last month and while I was nervous about the coating condition, the one I got works well. No complaints here. It had some scuffs on the hood that werent in the photos but the glass was spotless. I am just happy I didnt pay full retail for it. It is definitely a grind trying to find those gems though...
