But it's getting a bit tedious seeing Sony constantly release new lenses with tiny focal length variances rather than truly innovative optics that open up new capabilities. Where are the exciting wildlife lenses with built-in teleconverters or high-quality mid-range PF primes and zooms? Those would be far more interesting than yet another ultra-wide G lens.

While it would be nice to get some unique focal lengths like a 22-24mm f/2.8 as joked about, a 16-25mm f/2.8 G is just more of the same from Sony - incremental updates covering well-trodden ground.
