Ive been using the RX100 series since the Mark III so Im pretty used to how these little powerhouses handle but I just picked up the VII for a trip to Italy this Thursday and the old leather half-case I had for my VI isnt sitting right at all. I think the dimensions changed just enough or maybe the button placement is slightly off because it feels loose and keeps sliding around which is super annoying. I need a solid leather case that actually fits the VII properly because Im terrified of dropping this $1200 brick on the cobblestones in Rome.
I need something that:
I looked at the official Sony one but its kind of overpriced for what it is and Ive heard the Gariz ones are nice but theyre hard to find with quick shipping. Anyone know a brand that ships fast or maybe something on Amazon that isnt total junk? Im literally leaving in three days so I need to order tonight...
Honestly, the VII is a bit of a pain with fitment because of the mic jack placement. I went through three cases before a trip to Kyoto last year because of those specific 102mm x 58mm x 43mm dimensions. The MegaGear MG1715 Ever Ready Leather Case for Sony RX100 VII was actually a solid win. Its usually around $45 and fits perfectly. Heres why it works:
> I need a solid leather case that actually fits the VII properly Building on the earlier suggestion about the Bolinus, if you want something that feels a bit more premium, Ive used the TP Original Sony RX100 VII Genuine Leather Half Case for years. Its real cowhide, not the faux stuff. Quick tip: always check the bottom screw tightness after a day of walking on cobblestones. Vibration is real! Fits the VII perfectly without adding bulk tho.
Quick reply! You should definitely check the Bolinus Genuine Leather Sony RX100 VII Case.
