Finally grabbed the ZV-E10 II after using the original for years and man the speed is night and day but I realized my old audio setup is just too clunky now. Im planning a massive solo trip to Tokyo next month and really need to keep the rig small so I dont stand out too much in the crowded markets. Looking for something that actually uses the digital MI shoe so I can ditch the 3.5mm cables entirely since they always get in the way of the flip out screen. My budget is around $200-$300 and I need it to handle loud street noise without peaking.
What are you guys actually using on the new mark II that doesnt block the screen or feel too top heavy?
Unfortunately I tried the Sony ECM-B10 Compact Shotgun Microphone and it felt kinda plasticky. Handling noise was a huge issue for me while walking, so it wasnt as good as expected tbh. The Sony ECM-M1 Shotgun Microphone with 8 Modes is way more versatile and handles those loud street peaks much better. Quick tip: always keep the low-cut filter on when you're in the markets to kill that low-end rumble. It saves so much time.
@Reply #2 - good point! Im satisfied with Sony ECM-G1 Shotgun Microphone for size, but Sony ECM-W3 Wireless Microphone System works well for markets.
Im satisfied with how my digital shoe setups performance worked out.
