budget is maybe $450ish for something used or new. i just want to blend in and not have a sore neck by noon. what are the best compact prime lenses that actually fit the a6400 well?

I just picked up the Sony a6700 for a wedding I am shooting in San Diego this Saturday and I am honestly panicking a bit about the SD cards. I have been reading up on it and I am seeing such conflicting stuff online. Like some people say you absolutely need V90 cards for anything 10-bit but then I saw a video saying V60 is totally fine for 4K 60p. My logic was that I could save some cash and go with a Lexar V60 but then I got worried because I really want to try out that 4K 120p slow motion and I dont want the camera to just cut out in the middle of a ceremony because the write speed is too slow or something.

I am looking at the ProGrade Gold V60 cards because they are on sale right now but then I read somewhere that the a6700 can be picky with certain brands and might give a card not supported error if the speed isnt consistently high enough for the XAVC S-I format. Is that actually true or just people being extra? I really dont want to spend $200 on a single card if I dont have to especially since I just dropped all my savings on the camera body but I also cant afford to have a card fail during a paid gig. Should I just bite the bullet and get one V90 card for the slow mo stuff and use V60s for the rest or will the V60 handle it all...

I finally pulled the trigger on the Sony FX30 after saving up for months and honestly I'm so stoked to start shooting with it. I'm based in Seattle and I've got this short documentary project coming up next month for a local animal shelter and I really want to make sure my setup is dialed in before I'm out in the mud with a bunch of dogs. I've got about $1,100 left in my budget for the extras but the more I look at rig builds the more confused I get lol.

I spent like three hours last night looking at cages and everyone says SmallRig is the go-to but then I see people swearing by the Tilta kits because of the way they handle the top handle attachments. Some people say the Sony XLR handle that comes in the box is great but others say it's way too flimsy and you should replace it with a real metal cage and handle if you're mounting a monitor. I'm planning on using a Ninja V monitor I already own but I'm worried about the weight on that plastic handle.

Then there's the whole power thing. I see all these pro rigs with massive V-mount batteries on the back and it looks cool but is it actually necessary for a crop sensor camera like this? I was thinking of just buying like 4 extra NP-FZ100 batteries instead because it keeps the footprint smaller for handheld work. Also I'm totally stuck on the media situation. Are those expensive CFexpress Type A cards actually worth it or can I get away with fast V60 SD cards for 4k 60p? I don't want the camera to overheat or stop recording mid-take because I cheaped out on the cards.

I just want a setup that's reliable for a long day of shooting outdoors without being a total nightmare to carry around. What are the actual must-have items you'd put on an FX30 rig if you were starting from scratch today?

Honestly, the screen on the FX30 is just too small for my eyes lately. Ive been trying to nail focus on some client shoots here in Chicago and its been a real struggle especially when the sun is actually out. I am looking to grab a solid external monitor before a big documentary project I have starting next month but I am stuck in a bit of a research loop and cant decide which way to go.

I spent hours looking at the Atomos Ninja V because that seems to be the standard choice for everyone, but then I read a bunch of threads saying its overkill if I dont actually need to record ProRes externally. Plus I heard the fan noise might be an issue for my scratch audio if the mic is too close. Then I saw the Portkeys LH5P II which has that cool camera control thing where you can change settings on the FX30 through the monitor, but I have also heard the menu system is kind of a disaster to navigate while youre in a hurry. I just want something reliable that wont break the bank or my arm after carrying it on a gimbal all day.

Here is what I am looking for specifically:

Budget is around $400 to $600 max

High brightness is a must for outdoor shoots maybe 1500 nits or more

Needs to support custom LUTs so I can see what the S-Log3 will actually look like

Battery life that doesnt die in 20 minutes on a standard NPF

Reliable build quality since I tend to be a bit rough on my gear

I am mostly doing run-and-gun stuff so I dont want a massive 7-inch brick, a 5-inch or 5.5-inch is probably the sweet spot for me. Does anyone have experience with the newer Feelworld or maybe those Shinobi monitors compared to the more expensive brands? Are they actually daylight viewable or is that just marketing talk... I am really worried about getting something cheap that has a huge color shift or weird delay.

But im heading to Iceland next month for a solo backpacking trip and realized my current setup is way too bulky for my pack. I usually shoot with the 18-135mm lens so the payload isnt huge but I still need something that wont shake in the wind.

I tried one of those cheap Gorillapods and it was a total disaster—it just kept sagging under the weight. Looking for something carbon fiber maybe? My budget is around $200 and it needs to fit inside a small 20L bag. What compact tripods are you guys using for the a6000 series?

The internal mic is just not gonna cut it for an outdoor ceremony and I dont want to ruin the video. I spent all night reading about the Rode VideoMicro because its the go-to budget choice but I keep seeing people mention a weird buzzing or hiss specifically when its used with Sony cameras?

Then I saw the Boya BY-MM1 which is way cheaper but I dont know if the quality is actually decent or if it feels like a toy. I really gotta stay under $60 since the camera already blew my budget. Is the Rode hiss a real thing on the a6400 or is there something else better...

I just bought the FX30 because everyone said it was the best camera for people starting out but the screen on the back is so tiny and I can barely see if things are in focus or not. Im supposed to film my cousins wedding in like three weeks here in Chicago and I am panicking because I cant see anything when I go outside in the sun. I heard I need an external monitor but when I look online there are so many options like Shinobi or Feelworld or Ninja something?? I dont even know what the difference is or if they come with cables and stuff or if I have to buy those separate.

I only have about $250 or maybe $300 left in my budget after buying the camera and a lens so I cant afford anything super expensive. Do I need one that records or just one that shows the picture? Someone mentioned something about nits for brightness but I dont know how many nits is enough for a sunny day outside. Also does the monitor drain the camera battery or does it have its own? I am really sorry if these are such basic questions I just dont want to ruin the wedding videos because I couldnt see the screen...

I just bought a Sony FX30 because I want to start filming my trips but honestly I have no idea what I'm doing lol. I'm going to Japan in like three weeks and I'm super stressed about what else I actually need to buy before I get on the plane. I spent almost all my savings on the body and one lens so I've only got about 250 bucks left. I've heard people talking about rigs and stuff but it all looks so complicated and expensive. Sorry if this is a really dumb question but if you only had a tiny budget what are the top three essential accessories I need to actually make this thing work?
