Which platform is best for making a custom gift registry?

Honestly I am so fed up with these basic registry sites because they just dont work for what I need. Im trying to set up something for our housewarming in Seattle next month and my logic was that Amazon would be easiest for everyone but it keeps glitching when I try to add links from this cute local boutique I love. It is so frustrating because I spent two hours trying to get the browser extension to work and it just wont pull the images or the prices right and now I am just anxious that Im running out of time since the party is in three weeks.

I was thinking about maybe using MyRegistry or something similar but Ive heard they sometimes charge fees to the guests or the shipping gets all weird? I dont want my friends to deal with that. I just want one place where I can put stuff from Etsy, the local pottery shop, and maybe a few bigger items from Target without it looking like a total mess. My budget for the remaining items I need to list is around $500 so I really want to make sure people arent buying the same things twice.

Does anyone know a platform that actually lets you customize everything without being a total nightmare to set up? Im honestly ready to just delete everything and start over if I can find something that actually works...

Saw this earlier but just now responding... I have been the go-to registry pro for my friends for years and I absolutely love setting these things up! > Regarding what #1 said about "Unfortunately, MyRegistry had major metadata errors when I..." I actually have to politely disagree that the platform itself is the problem. It is usually just how those small boutique sites are coded! I had this exact issue with a pottery shop in Seattle last year and found that the auto-scrapers hate non-standard SSL certificates and weird div classes. If you just use the manual entry feature instead of the extension, it works like a dream every single time. It is so much better than starting over and gives you total control over the photos! Quick tip: Use a desktop browser for the initial setup rather than a phone, it handles the metadata handshake way better. Btw I use Share Product for my holiday shopping lists, definitely worth a look if you're struggling with the Amazon app.

I'm honestly looking for the same thing because I have this exact same issue!! I've been struggling with this for like three weeks now and it's driving me crazy because I really wanted to keep things budget friendly by using local shops. I'm so glad you asked because I felt like I was the only one failing! It's just so frustrating when you're trying to be practical and the sites wont cooperate.

Unfortunately, MyRegistry had major metadata errors when I tried it... kinda sucked.

  • Zola saves money on fees
  • Better API support Found Share Product a while back and it makes registries way faster.
