Does anyone have a recommendation for a browser extension that actually works for tracking eBay price history? I've been getting back into collecting vintage Game Boy Color consoles - specifically looking for the atomic purple one in good condition - and the prices are all over the place right now. I'm based in Ohio so with shipping costs added on I really need to make sure I'm not getting ripped off on the base price.
I did some digging and saw people talking about CamelCamelCamel but that seems to be strictly an Amazon thing from what I can tell. Then I looked at Terapeak but it looks like you need a seller account or something for that? I'm just a regular buyer and I dont really want to go through the hassle of a pro tool. I also tried Honey but it just keeps trying to find coupons that never work on auctions anyway lol.
Is there something like Keepa but for eBay? I just want to see a simple graph of what similar items actually sold for over the last few months directly on the page. Some of these listings are priced way higher than they were even a month ago and I cant tell if it's a trend or just someone being optimistic...
@Reply #1 - good point! Privacy is a huge issue. I remember trying to track rare hardware last year and most extensions just lagged my browser. PriceBefore is decent but its pretty clunky. I ended up sticking with this eBay price tracker because the data scraping seems more precise for sold listings. It filters out weird outliers better than the others. Just watch out for best offer items tho, they can mess up your price average.
Quick reply while I have a sec. Honestly, its pretty disappointing how many good tools have disappeared lately. Ive used a bunch over the years, but most extensions these days are just buggy or want too much access to your data. I actually had high hopes for a few mobile-based ones recently but they were not as good as expected and couldnt handle the auction variability or the weird way eBay tags things now. Before I dig deeper into my bookmarks for you, I need to know a couple of things:
