so i just started actually caring about my skin recently and wow sephora is way more expensive than i thought it would be... sorry if this is a super basic question but i keep hearing people talk about these big sales they have but i have no idea when they actually happen or how they work. i basically need a whole new routine because my skin is getting really flaky and dry now that its colder out but i dont want to drop like 300 bucks if i can get a discount in a few weeks or something.

im looking for a few things specifically:

  • a good cleanser that wont strip my skin
  • a thick moisturizer for night time
  • maybe one of those glowy serums everyone uses

my budget is maybe 150 dollars max and i live in a pretty cold area so my skin is struggling. i think i saw something about a vib sale? but i dont even know what that is or if i qualify since i just made an account. is there a certain month i should wait for or is there like a secret calendar? i really dont want to miss out on saving money if i can help it since im just starting out...

honestly sephora prices are kinda wild lately so i totally get wanting to wait for a deal. in my experience over the years you gotta time it right or you just end up overspending. i think the big ones usually happen twice a year but the dates change slightly every year.

  • the spring sale is usually in april iirc and then the big holiday one is around november
  • since you just made an account youre probably an insider so you might only get 10 percent off which isnt huge but it covers tax at least
  • not sure but i think they sometimes do a points multiplier event in between which helps if you want to get free stuff later ive tried many products for my own dry skin and if youre struggling with flakes right now i wouldnt wait months for a sale tbh. if your skin is hurting it might be worth grabbing one thing now just to get some relief. i think the skinfix triple lipid cream is what people swear by for the cold but it is pricey. for a cleanser maybe check out the fresh soy one? its super gentle and wont strip your face. over the years ive learned that buying everything at once during a sale can be overwhelming if you dont know what works for you yet. maybe just get the moisturizer now and wait for the sale to grab the fancy serums. i think the vib thing is basically just their loyalty levels... the more you spend the bigger your discount gets next time around. its a bit of a trap lol but worth it if you're a regular shopper.

Coming back to this... the technical side of the Sephora tiers is actually pretty simple. Since you just signed up, youre an Insider, which is the base tier. That gets you 10% off during the major events in April and November. If you want to maximize that 150 budget, look at the price-per-ounce on holiday value sets. They usually drop those in late October. For the dry skin, focus on barrier-repair specs. I usually check PriceDropCatch to track the historical lows on the Skinfix Triple Lipid cream. Its a beast for cold weather but retail is steep so wait for the dip. For a glowy serum, the Sephora Collection Ultra Glow Serum has decent specs for a low price point. Stick to the basics first and youll be fine.

April and November are the usual VIB sales tho. Im satisfied with these:

  • Sephora Oat Cleanser
  • Inkey List Moisturizer Using PriceDropCatch helps me stay updated, works well, no complaints!
