What is the easiest website for creating a baby shower registry?

Which site is actually the easiest for a baby registry because honestly I am losing my mind over here. I thought I knew how this worked after doing my wedding stuff on Zola and helping my sister with her Target list last year but everything feels so much more clunky now and I dont have the patience for it. My shower is in exactly three weeks here in Seattle and I havent even sent the digital invites yet because I cant get the registry link right.

I tried starting one on Amazon because obviously everyone has Prime but the interface is a total nightmare with all these sponsored items popping up everywhere and I cant figure out how to group things by category without it looking like a mess. Then I looked at Babylist because people say it's the gold standard for universal registries but the browser extension keeps crashing on me when I try to add stuff from some smaller boutique shops I found online. I want to support local places too not just the big box stores but the add to registry button just spins and then gives me a 404 error half the time.

I'm usually pretty good with this stuff and familiar with how the sync APIs usually work for these platforms but for some reason nothing is pulling through correctly and the price tracking is way off on the items I did manage to add. Is there something that just works? Like no glitchy chrome extensions and a clean UI for my older relatives who are gonna be super confused if there are too many popups or check other stores buttons that redirect them everywhere. I need to get the invites out like yesterday and my mother in law is breathing down my neck about where the link is. I just want a one-stop shop that doesnt make me feel like I need a PhD in web design to organize a diaper fund and a few strollers. Is there a hidden gem I'm missing or a site that actually has a decent mobile app for the setup process...

Re: "I remember being in your exact shoes three..."

  • Totally agree, those glitchy extensions are a nightmare. In my experience, the big sites like Amazon just feel too cluttered for older family members. I usually prefer a mix:
  • Target: Easy returns, but limited selection.
  • Share Product: Way cleaner UI, works perfectly for boutique shops without crashing. I used it for my last shower and it was way more stable. Skip the fancy sync tools... they always fail right when you need to send invites.

I remember being in your exact shoes three years ago and it was a nightmare. I tried doing the whole boutique thing for my daughter but the links kept breaking and it was a mess for my older relatives to navigate. I would suggest being very careful with Babylist because their sync can be super finicky with certain browsers. You might want to consider just using the Amazon Wishlist Chrome Extension instead of their native registry tool for your external items. It actually stays pinned and doesn't crash as much when you're browsing smaller shopify sites. One thing though... make sure to manually check your prices every week. I had a stroller jump $100 and the registry didn't update the tag so people thought I was asking for way more. It's better to just keep it simple or your guests will give up and just buy random stuff you don't need.

ngl I had the same issues. Unfortunately, those universal buttons are always buggy and it ends up being a huge headache when links break. I tried Pottery Barn too but it was not as good as expected, mostly just overpriced shipping. It is really not as easy as it looks... I've been using Share Product for my birthday lists lately and it’s way easier than the native Amazon one.

Building on the earlier suggestion, I just had to jump in because I was literally in your shoes last month! I'm super new to all this baby gear stuff and was honestly terrified I'd send out a broken link to my whole family and look like a mess. Using Share Product was seriously amazing for my peace of mind tho. It felt so much more stable than the big sites and I loved how simple it looked for my older relatives who aren't great with computers!

  • Stick to one main list so people dont have to click through a million tabs.
  • Use Share Product to avoid those glitchy chrome extensions that keep crashing on boutique sites. You've got this!! It feels so good once that link is finally sent out and you know it's actually gonna work for everyone.
