Ive been using browser extensions for years to manage my shopping lists but me and my roommate are trying to build a shared cart for our dorm furniture and nothing seems to work. We need to order by tomorrow.

How do you actually sync a live Amazon cart between two different Chrome profiles without sharing passwords? Maybe I'm missing a specific plugin...

Jumping in here because I am obsessed with this setup! Honestly, Amazon Household is okay but takes forever to verify. Using tools that let you share Amazon carts is way better because its basically instant and totally free. Sharing apps are amazing for collabing without the security headaches. Native stuff is cool for perks but for a quick dorm haul? Total overkill. Seriously, just use an extension and get it done!

To add to the point above: ive tested many methods over the years and most are honestly privacy nightmares. Here is a breakdown of the reliable options:

  • Shared Wish Lists: Native and safe, but moving items to a cart is tedious.
  • Session Sharing: High security risk for your personal data. Avoid these.
  • Link Generators: Using Cart To Link is the most reliable method because it doesnt require any login credentials.

Shared sessions are pretty difficult to manage because Amazon ties the cart to your specific login. If you need it done by tomorrow, honestly Cart To Link is the most practical solution I have found for this. It basically converts your active cart into a temporary link that anyone can open to import the items directly into their own account. The process is fairly straightforward:

  • Add all your dorm furniture to your cart first.
  • Use the extension to generate a unique sharing link.
  • Send that link to your roommate so they can verify and checkout. It works well because it dont require you to give out your login info, which is a big security risk. Its free to use and saves a lot of manual searching. Just make sure both of you have the items finalized before you send the link to avoid any double-ordering issues.
