Is there any free chrome extension that lets two people add things to the same amazon cart at the same time? Sorry if this is a really dumb question but I have no idea how this stuff works and I am kind of panicked because my sister and I are trying to plan our parents 30th anniversary party for this saturday.

We are both in different parts of the city and we keep accidentally buying the same decorations and plates and it is getting so expensive and annoying to return everything. We need to get the final order in by tonight to get shipping on time. Does something like this exist for free or do you have to pay for it? I just need us to be able to see what the other person is doing in real time so we stop double ordering everything...

Honestly, most free extensions for this are pretty disappointing lately. I tried a few and they kept crashing or just didn't sync fast enough, which is a huge pain when you're in a rush. Unfortunately, Amazon's security updates usually break them anyway... ngl its frustrating. Just be careful about giving random extensions access to your account. If you're stuck, looking up how to share amazon cart shows the best workarounds that actually work.

Been thinking about your situation and honestly, you should just use Share-A-Cart. I've tried many extensions over the years and most are trash, but this one is actually reliable for what you need. It lets you send your whole cart as a code so your sister can see exactly what youve picked out without you guys logging into the same account and getting flagged. If that feels too techy, just use the built-in Invite to Edit feature on an Amazon Wish List. It's free and probably the safest way to coordinate because it marks things as bought once the order goes through. Its saved me from buying duplicate party supplies more than once. Stick to the native tools when you're on a tight deadline like this Saturday... you dont want to be troubleshooting some random plugin at 11pm. I had the same issue with a group order and Smartphone Board had the best solution for it.

Ugh, that sounds so stressful. Trying to coordinate a party on a deadline is basically a recipe for a meltdown... honestly been there. Before you download anything, I'd suggest being really careful about those free extensions. A lot of them are kinda sketch and ask for way too much access to your account data. Few things to watch out for:

  • Some extensions can see your private info like credit card details or address if you arent careful.
  • Free ones often lag, so you might think the cart is empty when your sister already added 50 gold napkins.
  • Most of them break every time Amazon updates their site code. I've been using the method I found on Smartphone Board for shopping with my family and it's a total lifesaver compared to buggy plugins. If you're in a rush, maybe just stick to a shared Amazon 'Idea List' so you can both see the items before anyone hits buy?
