i am getting so frustrated trying to buy a new espresso machine for my kitchen in brooklyn. i have a strict 200 dollar budget and i swear the one i want was 180 last week but now it says it is 300 marked down to 210 as a limited time deal. i feel like they are just making up numbers at this point and i have no idea where to even look for the truth. sorry if this is a dumb question i just dont know how any of this works...

So I finally caved and pre-ordered the PS5 Pro and man, my bank account is definitely side-eyeing me right now. Ive been in the PlayStation ecosystem since the PS2 days so I usually know what to expect with these mid-gen refreshes but the Pro feels like a different beast because of how much they stripped out of the box. My logic was that if I'm already dropping seven hundred bucks then I might as well go all in to get the best experience but now I'm actually looking at my setup and realizing I might be missing some crucial stuff.

I live in a fairly small apartment in Seattle and my entertainment center is basically a heat trap so I'm honestly a bit paranoid about the thermals on this thing. I know the basics like needing a high-speed HDMI 2.1 cable for the 120Hz stuff but I'm wondering what else is actually mandatory vs just a nice-to-have. Like I’m already annoyed about the disc drive situation—I have a massive physical collection and finding a separate drive at retail is basically impossible right now.

Heres what I'm debating over for my launch day setup:

The vertical stand. Is it actually necessary for airflow or is it just a scam? I dont want this thing to overheat while I'm playing Alan Wake 2 or something heavy.

SSD expansion. I've got a 2TB Gen4 drive in my current PS5 and I’m pretty sure I can just swap it but has anyone heard of any weird compatibility quirks with the Pro specifically?

Controller charging. My DualSense Edge battery life is honestly pretty mediocre so I’m thinking about a proper dock that doesnt look like cheap plastic trash.

I’ve got maybe $150 to $200 left to spend before my wife starts asking questions and I really want to prioritize stuff that actually improves the performance or the longevity of the console. Is there any weird niche accessory I'm forgetting? Like do I need a specific wall mount or better dust filters if I'm keeping it in a tighter space? Just trying to make sure I'm not missing anything obvious before the box actually shows up at my door...

I've been using Chrome for like a decade and usually I can find an extension for anything but this collaborative shopping thing on Amazon is honestly a nightmare. Im trying to organize this secret santa for my office in Chicago—there's about 12 of us and we have a $30 cap—and I figured there would be an easy way to just sync a cart or a list in real-time.

My logic was that someone surely built a wrapper or some kind of session-sharing tool by now that lets multiple people add items to a single checkout or at least vote on stuff without me having to constantly screen share on Zoom which is such a laggy mess. I looked at stuff like Honey or those generic wishlist apps but they dont really handle the 'collaborative' aspect well where everyone sees the same live updates.

I even thought about just sharing my login but obviously thats a huge security risk and I dont want my coworkers seeing my order history lol. Is there actually a free extension that handles the DOM injection or whatever to make a shared sidebar on Amazon? Every one I find is either dead, hasnt been updated since 2019, or tries to charge a subscription just to share a link. Surely there is a better way to do this than just copy-pasting URLs into a Slack channel over and over again...

I am actually sitting in my car right now outside this massive garage sale in a suburb of Cleveland and i am freaking out a little bit. I found this box of old vintage looking cameras and the lady wants like 80 bucks for the whole crate but i have no clue if thats a steal or if i am just throwing my money away. I tried looking on the ebay app on my phone but everything i see is just what people want for them like 200 dollars but then i see others for 10 dollars so i am super confused.

I have about twenty minutes before she closes up and i need to know:

is there a free tool for this

do i need a special account to see old prices

how do i see what people actually paid recently

I dont want to rely on the list prices because those seem like people are just dreaming. Someone told me about something called Terapeak but i think you have to pay for that or maybe its only for pros?? I literally have no idea what i am doing and i feel so stupid for asking this but is there a fast way to check the actual history of prices quickly while i am standing here? I only have about 100 dollars total in my bank account right now so i really cant afford to blow it on junk.

I am honestly so over my current setup right now. Ive been using the 24-70mm GM II on my FX3 for about six months and while its sharp as hell it just feels... i dont know, soul-less? boring? Im shooting a noir-style short film in Chicago next month and every test shot I do looks like a corporate talking head and its driving me insane. Plus the focus breathing on some of these stills-first lenses is just killing me when I try to do any meaningful rack focus. I feel like I spent all this money on a cinema camera just to put a wedding lens on it and im ready to just sell the zoom and move to something actually built for video.

I need something that actually feels like it has some character and doesnt just look like a clinical youtube vlog. Ive got about $4000 to drop on this right now before production starts and im torn between going all in on one high-end cine zoom or maybe a couple of really solid primes that play nice with the FX3s autofocus because im mostly a solo op and I cant always pull manual.

Here is what im actually looking for:

minimal focus breathing (this is the big one, its ruining my shots)

decent autofocus because im a one man crew half the time

something that doesnt weigh ten pounds since im on a gimbal a lot

a bit of a look or at least not that super harsh digital sharpness

internal zoom if possible so i dont have to rebalance the gimbal every five seconds

Ive been looking at the DZOFilm stuff or maybe the Sony PZ 28-135 but i heard thats old and kinda soft? Or maybe just the 35mm and 50mm GM primes but again, worried they wont feel cinema enough for this specific project. Anyone actually using the FX3 for high end narrative work who can tell me what glass actually makes this sensor sing without breaking my back or my bank account? i really need to figure this out by next week or im gonna lose it...

So we finally signed the lease on our new studio space in Austin and I am honestly so pumped to get this place set up!! It is a bit of a shell right now but the vision is there. I am currently the one tasked with ordering all the gear for our three new hires - were looking at a budget of roughly five grand for desks, some ergonomic chairs, and dual monitor setups for everyone. I have been adding everything to my cart on our Amazon Business account but now I am hit a wall.

I did a bit of digging online and found some stuff about Shared Lists or creating Buying Groups where you can add people to an organization. But honestly it seems way more complicated than what I need? I saw a blog post saying you could just share the cart directly but then another site said that feature only works if you have certain administrative permissions turned on. I dont want to accidentally buy all this on my own card and wait for a huge reimbursement lol. I just want my manager to see what I picked and hit the pay button.

Does anyone know the actual step-by-step for sharing a full cart in Amazon Business so someone else can check out? Like do I need to click a specific button or is there a way to send a link to the whole basket?

honestly getting so fed up with how amazon handles the whole household thing its driving me a little crazy. my logic was that since me and my roommate both live in seattle and order stuff for the house basically every day it made sense to just share one prime membership to save some money before prime day hits next month. like why pay for two right? but man it is such a headache once you actually get into the settings.

i didnt realize it would just merge our payment methods into one big pool like that. i was thinking it would keep things separate but now i have to be terrified that hes gonna accidentally use my card for his random hobby stuff or i might use his for my groceries. plus the whole shared library thing is super confusing like i dont need him seeing every single ebook i buy or my weird movie watchlist honestly. its just way more intrusive than i expected and im starting to wonder if there is some trick to keeping things private while still sharing the shipping perks.

has anyone found a way to actually manage this stuff without it becoming a total mess? i really want to make this work so we can keep the 150 bucks in our pockets but right now it feels like a disaster waiting to happen...

So I've been staring at this Google Sheet for like three hours trying to make sense of the Christmas and birthday list for my two kids and their four cousins. I'm the designated shopper for the family this year and I've got about $500 to cover everyone for the next couple months. My logic was that I should just split it evenly but then I realized that $80 for a 4-year-old goes way further than $80 for a 12-year-old who wants a specific gaming headset. It's getting complicated fast.

I did some digging online and found that Rule of Four thing where you do want, need, wear, read. It sounds nice in theory but then I'm like... okay if the want is a $100 Lego set for one kid and a $15 doll for the other, the pile of gifts under the tree looks super uneven and then you have a crying toddler or a jealous pre-teen. Then I saw another blog saying to just do price buckets like Under $20 for stocking stuffers and Big Gift for anything over $50. But that feels a bit rigid because sometimes the best thing is like a bunch of small $10 art supplies that add up to a lot of fun but they look like nothing when they're wrapped.

I'm mostly struggling with how to categorize things so I dont accidentally spend half the budget on one kid while the others get cheap plastic junk. I was thinking of maybe doing a tiered system based on play hours per dollar? Like, a $60 video game gets hundreds of hours but a $60 remote control car might get broken in an hour or just run out of batteries. Does that even make sense or am I overthinking this way too much?

categorize by price (under $15, $15-40, $50+)

categorize by size (will it look big under the tree?)

categorize by interest (is this a forever toy or a phase?)

I really need a way to organize these ideas so I can see at a glance if I'm hitting the right value for each kid without just looking at the price tag. How do you guys actually sort your lists? Do you go by age, by category like toys vs clothes, or just strictly by the dollar amount? My brain is kinda fried trying to make this fair and stay under that $500 limit for all six of them...

So Ive been the go-to tech guy for our local neighborhood park renovation group here in Seattle for years now and usually I just handle the buying and get reimbursed later but this time the budget is way higher like nearly four thousand dollars and our treasurer is being super strict about the paper trail which I totally get but its becoming a massive headache. I have everything sitting in my cart right now—shovels, bulk bags of mulch, those specific heavy duty paint sprayers, even some snacks for the volunteers—its like 58 items total and I spent all morning getting the quantities and sizes exactly right.

The problem is he needs to see the actual cart to approve the final total before he puts it on the org card but I am NOT giving out my login info even though weve worked together forever. My personal credit card is linked and my Prime account is tied to my whole family history so its just a security nightmare if I share the password. I thought about just making a public wishlist but that doesnt show the quantities correctly and it keeps messing up the specific variations I picked and honestly its just a mess and we are on a super tight timeline because the event is this Saturday and if I dont get this ordered by tonight the shipping wont make it in time.

I tried looking for some kind of share cart button but Amazon seems to have buried it or it just doesnt exist for personal accounts anymore? I saw some Chrome extensions that claim to do this like Share-A-Cart or whatever but Im always a bit wary of third party stuff reading my browser data especially with financial info involved. Is there a legit way to just send a link to a live cart so someone else can just click checkout on their own account? Or maybe a way to export the cart to a format he can import without me having to manually rebuild the whole thing on his laptop? I really dont want to spend another three hours sending him individual screenshots of every single item... how do people actually do this securely?
